This Weekly Challenge is now complete, to see how I got on in Mendoza, including my discovery of the mythical ‘wine duvet’ have a look at this hilarious post.

To celebrate arriving at the Weekly Challenge half way point in My Year In Flux, I’m going to pop some celebratory corks, sniff a few fruity bouquets and spend the week developing my taste for wine. Is it possible to become a wine connoisseur in just 7 days? I hope not, but I expect to come out of this week with a better appreciation for the juice of the gods.

If truth be told, my wine connoisseur challenge was not really motivated by the 6 month anniversary of My Year In Flux, it’s really more to do with my imminent arrival in the Argentinian wine capital of Mendoza, where the Malbec grape is king and big spicy reds are the order of the day.

Over the last few weeks I’ve enjoyed bringing my travel and Weekly Challenges together, through the Inca Trail in Peru, the Salar de Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia and now, during a short stay in one of the 10 wine capitals of the world, it seems only fitting that I spend my week slurping the good stuff.

So raise your glasses please to 26 Weekly Challenges, and let’s take a moment to reflect on the fact that I still have 26 more completely new skills and experiences to go…yikes, more wine please!
